A range of charities and good causes were supported as part of the Creating Chances 'Places for Players' programme and many of the Barclays Premier League stars spent time with their local community.

Jonathan Woodgate met residents at Teesside Hospice where he washed their hair and made tea. He was one of many stars to kick off the Places For Player scheme.

2nd October

Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso painted with kids at Claire House Children's Hospice and was one of several Barclays Premier League stars doing work in the local community.

9th October

Fulham star Moritz Volz and TV presenter Gabby Logan went head-to-head in a pre-match bucket collection challenge to raise money for the Sport Aiding Medical Research for Kids charity.
