Bolton's players were very much out in force in their local community taking part in a wide range of initiatives:

  • Nicky Hunt and Jussi Jaaskelainen helped the Junior Whites in celebrating the Reebok Stadium's 10th anniversary. They were team captains in a 'Question of Sport' style quiz and challenged on Bolton facts, players, news and matches from the last decade.

  • Heidar Helguson took part in Street Soccer Bolton initiative at St Luke's Drop in Centre, a weekly football training activity for homeless men to develop a healthy lifestyle with structure and stability.

  • Bolton Wanderers' Study Centre held a language event for local school children. Nicolas Anelka, Gerald Cid, Ivan Campo, Mikel Alonso and Kevin Wolze held a Q&A with children in French, Spanish and German.

  • Unity in Diversity at Pikes Lane Recreational Zone is a project that encourages the different ethnic and faith communities of Bolton to come together. Gary Speed and Kevin Nolan held a coaching session and gave youngsters advice on football.
