Birmingham City's players were busy for Creating Chances and proved themselves to be good sports, getting involved in a lot of good cause awareness raising across Birmingham:

  • Maik Taylor and Stephen Kelly read to school children as part of the Book Trust book week, while Kelly was also involved with Colin Doyle and Sebastian Larsson in a blindfolded penalty shoot out with local media to raise awareness for Birmingham Focus on the Blind.

  • Larsson was active for Creating Chances as he and Mikael Forssell took a child to an air field to fulfill his dream of going up in a helicopter and meeting his favourite football players. The trip was organised by Promise Dreams, a charity that brings the wishes of life-limited children to reality.

  • Fabrice Muamba, City's education ambassador, became a pupil for the day and learnt about the Community Department Education Programme, which educates the young scholars of Birmingham City. Fabrice is himself studying a maths and data-studying degree with the Open University.

  • Gary McSheffrey judged a football shirt design competition and fashion show designed by children with learning difficulties at Sherbourne Fields Special School - he also had a bit of a kickabout too!
