2008: Geovanni joins Hull
Hull City completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Geovanni on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old agreed a two-year contract after being released by Manchester City.
The former Barcelona playmaker spent two seasons at the club, making 60 Premier League appearances.
Geovanni top-scored for the club in his first season with Hull, with eight goals, and produced a memorable goal in a surprise 2-1 victory at Arsenal as the Tigers narrowly avoided relegation.
The skilful South American was unable to prevent Hull from going down at the end of the following season, when they finished 19th in the PL.
2012: Reading swoop for Pogrebnyak
Following his displays in the 2012 UEFA European Championship, Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak signed a four-year deal with Reading on a free transfer.
Pogrebnyak, who had scored six Premier League goals during a five-month spell at Fulham the previous season, made his debut on the opening day of 2012/13 against Stoke City and scored his first PL goal for the club in the Royals' next match, a 4-2 defeat by Chelsea.
Pogrebnyak made 29 appearances in the league, scoring five goals but could not prevent Reading's relegation to the Championship, where he played for two more seasons.
