2000: Liverpool sign Emile Heskey

Liverpool confirmed the signing of Emile Heskey from Leicester City.

It took the 22-year-old forward five matches before he got his first league goal for Gerard Houllier’s team in a 3-0 victory over Coventry City.

He went on to score 39 PL goals for the club before moving to Birmingham City five years later.

2012: Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 Blackburn Rovers

Junior Hoilett’s superb brace lifted Blackburn Rovers out of the bottom three while sending Wolverhampton Wanderers into it.

The Canada winger struck a great half-volley just before half-time and his second was just as good, scoring from 25 yards midway through the second half.

Blackburn were helped by keeping their first clean sheet in 30 Premier League matches, a run that had stretched back to April 2011.

The defeat left Wolves in 19th, with one win from their last 14 matches, on 22 points but one point from safety.

Blackburn moved up to 16th on 25 points, three off the relegation zone.
