Stoke City have made their first signing of the summer transfer window with the capture of Egyptian winger Ramadan Sobhi.

The 19-year-old, who has been granted a work permit, joins from Cairo club Al Ahly for a fee that could rise to €6m.

"We are absolutely delighted to have signed a player of Ramadan's undoubted quality and potential," chief executive Tony Scholes told stokecityfc.com.

"He's a special young talent who is excited about the prospect of making an impact in the Premier League and we're looking forward to giving him that platform."

He made his Egypt debut last year, aged 17, making him the second youngest player to play for the country's national team behind a former Premier League striker. To find out who and for more Sobhi facts, click here.

Sobhi, who has six caps for his country, is likely to join up with his new team-mates in the United States later this week as the Potters continue their pre-season programme. Their next summer friendly is against Orlando City on 27 July.

Stoke City open their 2016/17 Premier League campaign at promoted Middlesbrough on 13 August.
