AFC Bournemouth have completed the transfer of Lewis Cook from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who won the Football League Young Player of the Year award in April, has signed a four-year deal at Vitality Stadium.

"We're pleased to be bringing one of the country's brightest prospects to the club,” AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told afcb.co.uk. "Lewis has impressed since earning his spot in the Leeds United first-team and we feel that he can continue his rapid progress under the tutelage of Eddie [Howe, the manager] and Jason [Tindall, the assistant manager]."

Cook is Howe’s sixth signing of the summer, after Emerson Hyndman (Fulham), Nathan Ake (Chelsea), Lys Mousset (Le Havre), Mark Travers and Mikael Ndjoli (Millwall).

AFC Bournemouth start their pre-season schedule with a match against Minnesota United on 20 July ahead of their opening match in the 2016/17 Premier League, at home to Manchester United on 14 August.
