After suffering a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, Bentancur came off the bench at Selhurst Park for his first minutes since February.
“The recovery process has been very long and difficult," the Uruguayan told the club. "But thanks to the support of my amazing family, my friends, the club and the fans, I’m finally back and I couldn’t be happier.
“Yesterday was a special day for me and now I just want to enjoy football, give my best and help my team-mates who have been by my side every day and have been doing a fantastic job in this first part of the season."

Club captain Son Heung-min says he was emotional seeing the return of his team-mate, whom he says can play a big part in Spurs's season.
“It makes me smile," Son added. "What an unbelievable player to have in our squad. He’s like a new signing.
“We couldn’t wait to have him back and when he came on, I was getting emotional because he’s a good friend of mine.
“I enjoy every single moment with him, even last season when I was suffering with injury, he was always pushing me. I’m just really grateful he came back healthy, hopefully he’ll now stay fit, and he will be a massive boost for the team. I’m very happy to have him back.”
Spurs face Chelsea in their next fixture on Monday 6 November as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
