Newcastle United have signed defender Tino Livramento from Southampton.

The right-back joins on a five-year contract and is Newcastle's third senior signing of the summer transfer window, after Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes

"The way the manager plays football is really attractive and I feel like it suits me as a player," Livramento told Newcastle's official website.

"With how well the team did last season, the trajectory that we're on now, I'm just looking forward to being a part of that.

"And to be able to learn from Kieran Trippier is another big thing for me; hopefully he teaches me how to become a better player and a better full-back."

Manager Eddie Howe added: "Tino is a very talented young player with an exciting future ahead of him.

"At 20, he already has lots of attributes that I admire but he also has the potential and drive to really grow with this team."

Livramento has made 30 appearances in his Premier League career and played five times for England's Under-21s.

Having progressed through Chelsea's youth system, he won their Academy Player of the Year award in 2020/21 before joining Southampton.

He had an impressive 2021/22 campaign but suffered an ACL injury that kept him out for over a year, returning for Southampton's final two matches of last season.
