Van Persie treble stuns Blues

Dutchman on song as Arsenal score five in romp at Chelsea

Robin van Persie is the leading scorer in the Barclays Premier League with 10 goals

Chelsea 3-5 Arsenal

A Robin van Persie hat-trick inspired Arsenal to a spectacular victory at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea suffered their first home defeat since February in the Barclays Premier League.

The Netherlands international cancelled out Frank Lampard's 14th-minute opener in the first half before two goals in the final seven minutes secured a memorable win against their London rivals.

Chelsea's John Terry and Juan Mata and Arsenal's Andre Santos and Theo Walcott all netted before the in-form Van Persie put the result beyond doubt.
