Wayne Rooney's overhead goal won the Manchester derby in February
Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney and manager Sir Alex Ferguson are on the shortlist for prestigious Fifa awards.
Rooney has been nominated for the Fifa Puskas award for the best goal of 2011 for his spectacular overhead kick that won the derby match against Manchester City back in February.
Rooney is up against Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Neymar of Brazilian side Santos.
Ferguson has been nominated for the Coach of the Year award alongside Barcelona's Pep Guardiola and Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho, formerly manager of Chelsea.
Barca's Messi also made it on to the nominees list for the Fifa Ballon d'Or for world player of the year, along with his club team-mate Xavi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, once of Manchester United.
