Danny Welbeck grabbed a late winner as Manchester United edged out Arsenal to maintain their challenge for the Barclays Premier League title.

United took the lead at the end of a low-key opening 45 minutes at the Emirates Stadium through Antonio Valencia, but Arsenal came back strongly after the half-time interval and Robin van Persie levelled after good work by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

However, Valencia set up Welbeck to shoot home in the 81st minute to earn a victory that sees them end the day three points behind League leaders Manchester City.
