A magnificent strike from Buomesca Tue Na Bangna gave Fulham their first victory of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League Division 1 campaign against Everton, while Adam Armstrong’s hat-trick helped Newcastle United to come from behind to earn a comprehensive Division 2 win against Reading.

Division 1

Fulham 2-1 Everton

A superb goal from Buomesca Tue Na Bangna sealed Fulham’s first victory of the season at Motspur Park. The Fulham winger, known as Mesca, thumped home a fine strike from long range on 75 minutes to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage against Everton. Marcello Trotta put Fulham in front 10 minutes into the second half after slotting home Ryan Tunnicliffe's through-ball, which followed good work from the former Manchester United midfielder, who ran at the heart of the Everton defence.

Shortly after Mesca’s strike from distance, Brendan Galloway scored his first goal for Everton since his move from Milton Keynes Dons when he headed in from a corner. George Green’s long-range strike hit a post as Everton pushed for an equaliser, but the hosts held on for three points.

Division 2

Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa secured their second successive 1-1 draw in the competition after Jordan Graham’s stoppage-time equaliser earned them a share of the spoils against Blackburn Rovers at Leigh Sports Village.

As with their opening draw against Stoke City, Villa had to come from behind after Modou Cham had put Blackburn ahead. Cham scored with a clever lofted finish after Craig Hill had saved his initial effort.

Blackburn’s Dean Rittenberg had a goal disallowed for offside before that, but Callum Robinson fired wide and Graham went close as the visitors responded in the latter stages of the first half.

Blackburn goalkeeper David Raya produced a fine save as Robinson connected with Graham’s pass, and, after Rittenberg hit a post, Raya thwarted Graham with a fingertip stop on 72 minutes.

Graham was not to be denied though, and he slotted past Raya from Tom Leggett’s centre in the third minute of stoppage time.

Newcastle United 5-2 Reading

Adam Armstrong scored a hat-trick as Newcastle United came from 2-0 down to beat Reading at Northumberland FA.

The England Under-17 striker, who made four Barclays Premier League appearances last season, inspired a strong Newcastle side including Hatem Ben Arfa and Sammy Ameobi, who both got on the scoresheet, after the Royals had pegged them back with two early goals.

Rob Dicke and Conor Shaughnessy were the scorers for Reading but Armstrong pulled one back and Ameobi headed in an equaliser from a corner.

Gael Bigirimana hit a post as Newcastle pushed for a third and Armstrong provided it with his second of the afternoon. France winger Ben Arfa made it 4-2 with a superb solo goal and Armstrong sealed his hat-trick with a cool finish late on.
