Aston Villa midfielder Karim El Ahmadi has given a talk to a group of youngsters who hope to have a career in coaching with the help of the Prince's Trust Get Started programme.

Get Started is funded by the Premier League and the Professional Footballers' Association and aims to inspire 16 to 25-year-olds who are unable, unwilling or do not have the confidence to take part in longer personal development programmes.

Villa are working with the Trust to help the youngsters achieve a Level One coaching qualification.

"The fact that they have come to the Prince's Trust and Aston Villa to change their lives is great to hear."               Karim El Ahmadi

Moroccan international El Ahmadi took part in a question and answer session with the group before watching one of their coaching sessions in the Villa Park Indoor Academy.

"It's incredible to see the club working on projects like this," said El Ahmadi.

"Hearing the stories about what some of these young people have been through and the fact that they have come to the Prince's Trust and Aston Villa to change their lives is great to hear."

The coaching programme is being delivered by Barry Powell, a former midfielder with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City.

He said: "It is great for them to come here to a great facility like this and it gives them a massive boost to have a Premier League footballer like Karim visiting.

"We are really encouraged by how they are doing and the level of teamwork they are showing."
