Six Barclays Premier League players named in Brazil squad

Four Chelsea players among 23-man squad named by Luiz Felipe Scolari to play on home soil

Chelsea's Willian, David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar have been called up by Luiz Felipe Scolari

Six players from the Barclays Premier League were named in the Brazil squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup today.

National team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, a former manager of Chelsea, kept faith with most of the players who triumphed at last year's FIFA Confederations Cup as Brazil look to win the trophy for a sixth time, but for the first on home soil.

Chelsea provide four players – David Luiz, Oscar, Willian and Ramires – with Manchester City's Fernandinho and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho also called up. There was, however, disappointment for Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva who missed the cut.

The 'Selecao' open their Group A campaign against Croatia in Sao Paulo on June 12, before playing Mexico and Cameroon.
