Fulham have completed the signing of Netherlands goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg from Italian side AS Roma.
The 30-year-old, who worked with Fulham manager Martin Jol at Ajax, has joined for an undisclosed fee and signed a four-year contract.
"I am very happy to be joining Fulham, and to have everything sorted out so early in the summer, so I can really focus on preparations for playing in the Barclays Premier League next season," he told the club's website.
"He is a player of great quality and technical ability whose distribution and ability to react quickly and read the game is exceptional"
"It’s good that I’ll be joining Martin again, he knows my capabilities very well, so I am just looking forward to joining up with the team in pre-season and enjoying some time with them prior to the new season starting."
Stekelenburg spent 11 seasons at Ajax, winning two Eredivisie titles, before moving to Italy in 2011. He has 54 caps for the Netherlands and is first choice for his country after the retirement of Edwin Van der Sar.
"Maarten Stekelenburg is a fine-quality goalkeeper whom I know well from my time at Ajax and, of course, as the Dutch international goalkeeper I have always had an additional interest in his career," Jol said. "I am sure that he will do well here at Fulham in the Premier League.
"He is a player of great quality and technical ability whose distribution and ability to react quickly and read the game is exceptional; he will be a fantastic addition to the talented team of keepers that we already have. I am delighted that he was so keen to come to join us and am very happy with the way that the summer is shaping up in terms of our signings, so on the whole I’m ever so pleased."
Stekelenburg is Fulham's third signing of the summer, after Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng and Athletic Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta.
West Ham United have announced the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Adrian on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old will join West Ham on 1 July when his contract with La Liga side Real Betis runs out and has agreed a three-year deal, with the club having the option of a further two years.
"I am looking forward to being able to kick off my career in the best league in the world"
"I am extremely happy and ecstatic to have joined such a legendary and historical club in both London and in England," he told the West Ham website. "I am really looking forward to being able to kick off my career in the best league in the world with West Ham.
"West Ham had a great season after being promoted and, as a group, we should set our sights even higher because that is the only way we are going to improve our performances.
"I am looking forward to joining the squad and becoming one of the group and trying to improve myself and the team's performance on the pitch."
Adrian, whose full name is Adrian San Miguel del Castillo, is 6ft 3in and has just completed an impressive season for Betis, recording 11 clean sheets in 31 league starts to help the club finish seventh in La Liga and qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
Arsenal have announced that forward Andrey Arshavin, midfielder Denilson and defender Sebastien Squillaci will leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the month.
Arshavin joined Arsenal in 2009 and made a total of 105 Barclays Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 23 times, including a memorable four-goal haul in the 4-4 draw with Liverpool.
Denilson signed in 2006 and has made 96 League appearances, spending the last two seasons on loan at Sao Paulo. Squillaci leaves after three years with Arsenal, having joined from Sevilla in 2010.
"Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Andrey, Denilson and Sebastien all the best," read a club statement.
