Midfielder Jose Canas has signed a pre-contract agreement with Swansea City and will join the club at the start of next month.
The 26-year-old's deal with Real Betis expires at the end of this month and his move to the Liberty Stadium will be ratified on 1 July.
Canas has spent his entire career at Betis, rising through the ranks at the club before making his first-team debut in 2009.
"There are substantial funds available to strengthen our squad"
He helped Betis regain their top-flight status in 2011 and made 27 appearances last season as Betis finished seventh in La Liga and sealed a place in the UEFA Europa League.
Canas will join fellow Spaniards Angel Rangel, Chico Flores, Pablo Hernandez and Michu in Swansea next season.
It is Swansea's first signing of the summer and chairman Huw Jenkins told the club's website that there is money available for manager Michael Laudrup to use during the off season.
"There are substantial funds available to strengthen our squad over the summer while we are also in the privileged position, because of the way we’ve managed our finances over the years, that we do not need to sell anyone to fund those new recruits," he said.
