Monday 22 July 2013
Premier League fans in Hong Kong snapped up 1,500 tickets for the Barclays Asia Trophy over the weekend, meaning that only 3,500 tickets are left for the opening night of the tournament on Wednesday.
Tickets will be available from Cityline until 11.59pm on Monday 22 July. They can then be purchased at Hong Kong Stadium ticket box office on Tuesday 23 July between the hours of 10am and 9.30. If any tickets remain on Wednesday, fans will be able to buy these at Hong Kong Stadium ticket box office on the day.
The tickets still available are for the most affordable price categories of HK$250 and HK$300. For this, fans will see two matches on Wednesday night as Tottenham Hotspur play Sunderland and local champions South China take on the mighty Manchester City. All the teams have arrived in Hong Kong with their star players and new signings.
Richard Masters, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Premier League, said: "It's great that 1,500 were sold over the weekend. This suggests we could well have a sell-out on Wednesday evening, so we would urge any fans thinking about coming to the Barclays Asia Trophy to purchase tickets as soon as possible."
