Swansea complete signing of Bolton's Ngog

French striker joins Swans on a short-term deal until the end of the season

David Ngog has made 96 Barclays Premier League appearances for Liverpool and Bolton

Swansea City have completed the signing of former Liverpool striker David Ngog from Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old had a medical and moves to the Liberty Stadium until the end of the season. He will boost Michael Laudrup’s strike force in South Wales, with last season’s top goalscorer Michu still a few weeks away from a return from injury after ankle surgery.

Ngog began his career with Paris Saint-Germain, where he made 18 first-team appearances after progressing through the youth academy. He secured a move to the Barclays Premier League with Liverpool in 2008.

He spent three years at Anfield, scoring nine Barclays Premier League goals in 63 appearances, before moving to Bolton. Ngog netted three times in 33 top-flight appearances for the Trotters in his first season but was unable to prevent them being relegated to the Championship. He has scored 11 goals in 48 matches since.

Swansea are awaiting approval as to whether Ngog will be available to make his debut in Tuesday's Barclays Prenmier League fixture against Fulham at the Liberty Stadium.
