In the coming fortnight, fans of the Barcays Premier League have three local derbies to look forward to.
Firstly on Tuesday, there is the Merseyside derby as Liverpool host the team across from Stanley Park, Everton, over whom they have a strong record at Anfield.
On Saturday, one of the most passionate areas of the country for football, the North East, will enjoy the Tyne-Wear derby as Newcastle United welcome Sunderland to St James' Park.Then the next Saturday - 8 February - the second South Wales derby in the Barclays Premier League will take place as Swansea City look to avenge the 1-0 defeat away to Cardiff City this season.
All these matches are known for their excitement and passion, with the form book prone to being thrown out of the window as the teams vie to provide their supporters with bragging rights over their local rivals when they next get into work.
This season there are a number of derbies taking place in the Barclays Premier League. Premierleague.com has shortlisted five and asks you to decide which is the one that you most look forward to. Is it the clash of the Scousers of Merseyside, the Newcastle-Sunderland tie, the North London derby, the fixture which has had the most goals in the Barclays Premier League, the Manchester derby - with two of the most recent champions in a match that has guaranteed goals of late, or perhaps the South Wales derby which is being staged in the top flight for the first time?
