Chelsea have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Willian from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

The 25-year-old Brazilian has agreed a five-year contract after being granted a work permit and will wear the No 22 shirt.

"I'm very happy to be here, it's been a dream of mine to come and play here," he told the club's website. "Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world, and now I'm going to play for one of the best managers in the world, so I'm very happy and looking forward to it."

Willian, who has two caps for his country, began his career at Corinthians before moving to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in 2007. He won a host of trophies at the club, including the UEFA Cup in 2009, and scored twice in Shakhtar's 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge in November last year.

He moved to Anzhi in January this year and made 10 appearances, scoring one goal.

Willian is Jose Mourinho's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Andre Schurrle, Mario van Ginkel and Mark Schwarzer.

Chelsea take on Bayern Munich in Prague on Friday night in the UEFA Super Cup, the annual match between the winners of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
