Sunderland have confirmed the signing of Ondrej Celustka from Trabzonspor.

The 24-year-old right-back has joined on a season-long loan from the Turkish side, having previously played at Tescoma Zlin and Slavia Prague in his native Czech Republic before a loan at Palermo. At Trabzonspor Celustka played in eight UEFA Champions League matches, scoring once.

Celustka has yet to feature for his country's senior team but represented the Czech Republic in the UEFA Under-21 European Championships in 2011. He is the ninth senior summer signing by head coach Paolo Di Canio.

Sunderland open the 2013/14 Barclays Premier League season at home to Fulham on 17 August.
