Cardiff City celebrated a memorable home debut in the Barclays Premier League as they fought back to defeat Manchester City in a thrilling five-goal thriller in South Wales, while Tottenham Hotspur edged a narrow win over Swansea City.
Cardiff appeared destined for defeat after 2011/12 Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City took the lead early in the second half through Edin Dzeko's superb strike, but Malky Mackay's newly promoted side levelled through Aron Gunnarsson before Fraizer Campbell produced two headed goals.
Although Alvaro Negredo scored in added time to make a pulsating match 3-2 and then blazed a shot over the bar from close range with the last kick of the match, Cardiff held on for a dramatic victory.
In North London Tottenham Hotspur secured their second 1-0 victory in as many matches against Swansea City. Like last weekend, new signing Roberto Soldado was the match-winner with a second-half penalty.
