Hull complete signing of Huddlestone

Jake Livermore also joins Hull, but on loan, while Zoltan Gera extends Wes Brom stay

  • Huddlestone, 26, joins Hull after eight seasons at White Hart Lane

  • Livermore will also be joining Hull from Spurs, but on a season-long loan

  • Gera has extended his stay at West Brom by another season

Hull City have announced the signing of Tom Huddlestone from Tottenham Hotspur. The 26-year-old midfielder joins for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year deal.

Huddlestone played 144 Barclays Premier League matches for Spurs across eight seasons and during that time was capped four times by England at senior level.

Hull have also reached a deal with Spurs for midfielder Jake Livermore, 23, to join on a season-long loan. Both players will join up with the Tigers’ squad for the first time at training on Thursday ahead of their opening match in the Barclays Premier League, away to Chelsea on Sunday, 18 August.

Gera extends West Brom stay

West Bromwich Albion’s Zoltan Gera has agreed a one-year deal to stay at The Hawthorns.

The 34-year-old Hungarian midfielder had been injured since January with a knee injury and had become a free agent but after continuing his rehabilitation at the club a deal was agreed to extend his stay.

“It’s great to have Zoltan on board for another season,” West Brom head coach Steve Clarke told the club website. “He’s a top professional and good within the group. His form last season before his injury was as good as at any time in his career and our main aim is to get him back to that level as quickly as possible.

“If he reaches that level again, he will be a great asset for us.”
