Board of the Professional Game Match Officials seeks Non-Executive Chairman

The Non-Executive Chairman will support and advise PGMOL chief Mike Riley

The Board of the Professional Game Match Officials [PGMO] is seeking to appoint a new Non-Executive Chairman.

The position, currently held by Peter Heard, will require the successful applicant to work in an advisory and support role in conjunction with the General Manager, Mike Riley.

PGMO is the body responsible for the training and development of match officials operating in the professional game, as well as their appointment to matches in the Barclays Premier League, the Football League and Football League Cup competitions.

Established in 2001 to coincide with the employment of full-time referees, the organisation is operating with a list of 78 referees and 249 assistant referees during the 2012/13 season. PGMO provides the 16 Select Group referees and 32 Select Group assistant referees that operate in the Barclays Premier League.

The organisation is supported by the Football Association, the Premier League and the Football League and each body is represented on the PGMO Board at director level.

The successful candidate is expected to take up the position at the conclusion of the current season after a transitional period working alongside the incumbent chairman.
