Nine-man Chelsea see unbeaten start to Barclays Premeir League end

Chelsea's Ramires equalised for Chelsea but United came back

Chelsea 2-3 Manchester United

A late goal from Javier Hernandez ended Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the Barclays Premier League and put Manchester United a place and a point behind the league leaders.

A David Luiz own goal gave United the lead after four minutes and Robin van Persie fired the visitors 2-0 ahead eight minutes later.

Juan Mata began the Chelsea fightback with a curling free kick in the 44th minute and Ramires hauled Chelsea level shortly after the break with a header.

However, Chelsea's momentum was halted when Braqnislav Ivanovic was sent off for tripping Ashley Young and worse followed when Fernando Torres was shown a second yellow card for simulation.

Hernandez, on as a substitute for Tom Cleverley, poked home United's winner from close range after Petr Cech had saved Van Persie’s shot.
