Liverpool's Luis Suarez first to ten in Barclays Race for Golden Boot

Liverpool's Luis Suarez is grateful to his manager Brendan Rodgers for the award

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has won the Barclays Race for the Golden Boot "10-goal" Award after being the first player this season to reach 10 Barclays Premier League goals.

On receiving the award Suarez said: "The manager [Brendan Rodgers] has been a huge influence, not just on me but on every single player at the club this season. The position I am playing now is really the one I like the most- a free No 9.

"The manager tells me I can score goals and fills me with confidence to do well for the team."
