Fans in Hong Kong will watch the Barclays Premier League on PCCW next season
The Premier League is pleased to announce that PCCW has been awarded the live audio visual broadcast rights for all 380 Barclays Premier League matches per season for seasons 2013/14 – 2015/16 in Hong Kong.
The agreement will mean Barclays Premier League matches will be broadcast on PCCW's 'now TV' platform as well as other platforms including digital media and PCCW mobile offerings.
Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore, said: "We know PCCW well as they have held Premier League rights in the past, including for seasons 2007/08 – 2009/10. We are extremely pleased they have chosen to invest in the Premier League and look forward to working with them again.
"i-Cable has held our rights for six of the last nine seasons and has been an excellent partner for the Premier League. They will continue to showcase the competition to fans in Hong Kong until the end of the current season."
Ms Janice Lee, PCCW’s Managing Director of TV and New Media, said: "We welcome the return of the Barclays Premier League to now TV. BPL is one of the most prestigious football leagues in the world and to successfully regain the rights is a demonstration of our commitment to bringing top-class sports content to our customers."
