Newcastle and Manchester City played out a 1-1 draw
There were two matches in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League yesterday with most fixtures taking place on Monday.
A third successive win lifted Fulham to second in Group 1 as they eased past 10-man Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Chris David, who was bought from Twente in January, opened the scoring for the visiting side within five minutes of the start and it was doubled before half-time by Omri Altman's header.
Blackburn's hopes of a second-half recovery were dealt a blow when Nuno Gomes was sent off for a second booking. They did pull a goal back through Micah Evans on 63 minutes but Fulham sealed the points with Alex Smith's strike in stoppage time.

Newcastle United were pegged back by a late penalty as they drew 1-1 at home to Manchester City.
Steven Logan’s stunning strike, his first in the competition, was cancelled out by Marcos Lopes’ spot-kick nine minutes from time in the Group 2 tie. The penalty was won by Devante Cole, the son of former Newcastle and City striker Andrew.
The match was watched by Newcastle manager Alan Pardew and several of his staff and first-team squad despite landing from their UEFA Europa League trip to Moscow several hours earlier.
