Reading have announced they have agreed terms with Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak to join the club.

Pogrebnyak, who was part of the Russian squad at UEFA Euro 2012, has completed a medical and the deal will go through subject to the player obtaining a UK work permit.

Barclays Premier League newcomers Reading say they anticipate the deal to be finalised within seven days.

The 28-year-old Pogrebnyak spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham from German side Stuttgart and scored six goals in 12 appearances.

Reading also secured the signing of midfielder Danny Guthrie on a three-year contract on Friday.

The 25-year-old former Newcastle player has completed his medical and will formally complete the move on Sunday.
