Southampton have completed the signing of young goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga from League Two side Gillingham.
The Barclays Premier League new boys have swooped to sign the 20-year-old Argentine on a four-year-contract at St Mary's.
He has joined for an undisclosed fee and has immediately joined up with his team-mates at Southampton's pre-season training camp in France.
"I am very happy because signing for a Premier League team is a dream"
- Paulo Gazzaniga
"I am very happy because signing for a Premier League team is a dream," Gazzaniga told the club's official website. "It's mad because I only played a few matches last season - it's a crazy situation.
"The club has a lot of ambition, so I was eager to sign. I can't wait to get started."
Gazzaniga becomes Saints' fourth signing of the summer following Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez, Rangers midfielder Steven Davis and Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne.
Manager Nigel Adkins added: "We have been looking for a young, hungry goalkeeper and Paulo fitted that mould.
"We are delighted that we have secured his services and that he has come out to Evian to join up with the group.
"He will be in an environment that we think will help him improve under the guidance of our goalkeeping coach, Jim Stannard, and Kelvin Davis, who has a lot of experience and I know that he will take him under his wing.
"He is very ambitious, he is young and hungry and wants to do well for Southampton Football Club."
