"It’s the perfect start for me ahead of the new season," Kacaniklic told Fulham's website after signing the deal, which includes the option of a further year.

"I came back from my loan period at Watford last season and got some game time in the first team and hopefully I’ll be pushing for a place in the starting eleven this coming season."

He added: "It's great as a young player to work for a manager like Martin Jol. He’s always encouraging us and giving us the chance to show what we can do.

"I’m aiming to start a lot more games next season and I’m going to work really hard to achieve my goals."
