West Ham United have completed the loan signing of former Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz from Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg.
The 30-year-old, who spent five years at Boro between 2005 and 2010, has been signed until the end of the season with the Hammers having an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
"They are a very traditional club, with passionate supporters"
Pogatetz made 158 appearances for Boro, helping them reach the Uefa Cup final in 2006, and has been capped 52 times for Austria.
"I feel very good to be here and I am very excited about playing for West Ham," Pogatetz told West Ham’s official website. "First of all when I heard that West Ham wanted me, I thought it was a club I wanted to play for because they are a very traditional club, with passionate supporters.
"Secondly, it was good for to have the opportunity to come back and play in England. This is the football I want to play and I have missed playing here, I want to show what I am still capable of after five years playing in Middlesbrough."
Queens Park Rangers have announced that Anton Ferdinand has joined Turkish side Bursaspor on loan until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old defender joins former West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Scott Carson at the club.
QPR also said that striker Rob Hulse has moved to Millwall until the end of the season.
Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton is set for a loan move to La Liga side Real Mallorca until the end of the season, subject to a medical.
The Spanish club have the option of making the deal permanent in the summer. The 28-year-old Scotland international, who joined Villa from Tottenham Hotspur in 2011, has not made a senior appearance for Villa this campaign although he played seven times in a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
