Sunderland have announced the signing of Alfred N’Diaye from Bursaspor for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder who can also play at centre-back has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at the Stadium of Light.
"I watch the Barclays Premier League all of the time. I looked at Sunderland many times - it’s the best league in the world"
The France Under-21 international began his career at French Ligue 1 side Nancy before moving to Turkey in 2011.
"Alfred is a strong, powerful young player and as such can offer us more strength in depth," Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill told the club website. “He will give us options and I’m delighted that we have been able to bring him to the club.”
N’Diaye will wear the No4 shirt and, subject to international clearance, could be available to play West Ham United on Saturday.
He was excited by his move. "I am very happy to sign for Sunderland and get the chance to play in the Premier League; it was my dream when I was young and I’m so happy to be here," he said. “I watch the Barclays Premier League all of the time. I looked at Sunderland many times - it’s the best league in the world."
