Telenet acquires Premier League rights in Belgium

Three-year deal from next season for all 380 matches is sealed

Belgians will be able to see compatriots Kompany and Benteke on Telenet next season

The Premier League is pleased to announce that Telenet has been awarded exclusive audio visual broadcast rights for all 380 Barclays Premier League matches per season for seasons 2013/14–2015/16 in Belgium.

“We are extremely pleased Telenet has chosen to invest in our broadcast rights for Seasons 2013/14-2015/16," said Premier League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore.

"They are a long-term partner of the Premier League and we know they will continue to broadcast the competition to our fans in Belgium in an exciting and innovative manner."

Telenet Sr VP Public Affairs & Media Management, Ann Caluwaerts, said: "Our customers tell us that they enjoy the English Premier League very much. In particular because they can now follow the Belgian players more closely. That is one of the reasons why Telenet made a great effort to retain the broadcasting rights to the Premier League.

"With the Premier League rights secured Sporting Telenet will remain the channel with the best sports offer in Flanders."
