Chelsea loan Piazon to Malaga

Chelsea have confirmed that Lucas Piazon has been sent out on loan to Spanish side Malaga until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder has been a key part of Chelsea’s progress to the Elite Group stage of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League, scoring the side’s first goal in the campaign. He came on to make his Barclays Premier League debut in the 8-0 victory over Aston Villa, missing a penalty in the process.

Reading hire Greek coach

Reading manager Brian McDermott has brought in Yannis Anastasiou to boost his coaching staff until the end of the season. Anastasiou was a forward for Anderlecht, Ajax and Sparta Rotterdam and played five times for his country in the process before becoming an assistant coach at Panathinaikos, Ajax before completing his UEFA Pro License in June 2012, when he met McDermott.

“Yannis brings great experience, he had a fantastic playing career as well as being coach at a number of top sides across Europe,” McDermott told readingfc.co.uk. “He will be able to work on individual aspects with players, he’s here until the end of the season in the first instance and will add to the staff we already have.”
