Southampton to test Chelsea's FA Cup defence

Four all-Premier League matches among the FA Cup Third Round tie taking place over the weekend

  • Arsenal have the chance to avenge last month's League defeat by Swansea

  • QPR and West Brom recently met in the league at Loftus Road, with the visitors winning

  • Manchester United and West Ham meet again, but this time at Upton Park

Clubs from the Barclays Premier League begin their FA Cup campaigns at the weekend with holders Chelsea's trip to Southampton one of four all-Premier League ties.

Manager Rafael Benitez, who won the trophy with Liverpool in 2006, takes his side to St Mary's Stadium as Chelsea set out to win the trophy they claimed at Wembley at the expense of the Spaniard's former team last May.

Manchester United, who were knocked out in the fourth round by Liverpool last season, also have a tricky trip to a West Ham United side who will be boosted by the return of Joe Cole, while Arsenal travel to Swansea City, to whom they lost at home last month.

The other top-flight tie has pitted Queens Park Rangers, who will be lifted after their shock victory over Chelsea on Wednesday, against West Bromwich Albion.

Elsewhere, Manchester City have been drawn at home against npower Championship side Watford, Tottenham Hotspur will stage a repeat of the 1987 Cup final when they host Coventry City and Newcastle United, Reading and Sunderland have testing journeys to Brighton & Hove Albion, Crawley Town and Bolton Wanderers respectively.
