Man Utd summer tour to include match in Japan

United will take on Yokohama F. Marinos at on 23 July as part of their summer tour

Manchester United have announced a pre-season match in Japan as part of their summer tour of the Far East.

The leaders of the Barclays Premier League will play Yokohama F. Marinos in the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, the venue for the 2002 FIFA World Cup final, on 23 July.

The match is three days after United have a tour match against the Australian A-League All Stars in Sydney. Six days later, United will travel on to Hong Kong to take on Kitchee FC, just after Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and South China take part in the Barclays Asia Trophy there between 24-27 July. United are set to announce another tour date on Thursday.

Tickets for the Yokohama match will be on pre-sale from 8 February and general sale from 7 April. For more information click here.

The stadium was where Sir Alex Ferguson's team won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2008. "Manchester United has great memories of playing in Japan and our game against the Yokohama F. Marinos will play an important part of our pre-season preparations," said United chief executive David Gill.
