Manchester United have confirmed that they will open their 2013 summer tour with a match in Bangkok on 13 July.

United, who have already announced matches in Sydney, Hong Kong, Yokohama and Osaka, will take on the Singha All Star XI at the Rajamangala Stadium.

It will be the fifth time United have visited Thailand with the last trip coming in 2001 when they defeated Thailand with goals from Ryan Giggs and Dwight Yorke.

"Our visit to Thailand in July plays an important role in the team’s pre-season preparations for the season ahead, as well as enables the club to engage with some of its global fans and commercial partners," Manchester United chief executive David Gill told the club's official website.

“There are over 19.5 million Manchester United followers in Thailand and the club has been lucky enough to visit on a number of occasions. We are all looking forward to a great game."

United will soon release the details of how to purchase tickets for the match in Bangkok. For more information on the club’s 2013 summer tour, click here.
