FA Cup: Anichebe a doubt for Oldham replay

Everton forward may miss fifth-round replay at Goodison Park

Victor Anichebe, right, scored against Oldham in the original tie

Victor Anichebe is an injury doubt for Everton in Tuesday evening's FA Cup fifth-round replay against Oldham Athletic at Goodison Park.

The forward came off at half-time after scoring in the 2-2 draw away to Oldham on  16 February and missed Saturday's 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat at Norwich City.

David Moyes, the Everton manager, said "a couple of injuries" were sustained by his players in the match at Carrow Road that will need to be assessed, while defender Tony Hibbert is still recovering from calf surgery. The good news for Moyes was Seamus Coleman coming through the Norwich match unscathed after returning from injury.

"Seamus has never got a problem with his fitness because he is a fit and athletic lad," Moyes told the Everton website. "It's just getting him back into the football and getting him back playing. He did well at the weekend.

"Him and Tony Hibbert have been a massive miss for us. We have had to juggle things round for the last month so it's been awkward for us."

Should Everton beat Oldham they will face Wigan Athletic at home on 9 March in the quarter-finals.

Chelsea travel to Championship side Middlesbrough on Wednesday evening looking to set up a last-eight clash with Manchester United on 10 March.
