AMI awarded Premier League rights in Czech Republic and Slovakia

UK-based distributor awarded three-year deal for broadcast and new media rights in two territories

UK based independent sports rights distributor, AMI has been awarded the exclusive broadcast and new media rights for the Barclays Premier League for the territories of Czech Republic and Slovakia.

AMI has been involved with the Premier League since its inception in 1992 and the recent acquisition adds to its pre-eminent position distributing premium sports rights across the entire CEE and Central Asian Republics.

In addition to the Premier League, AMI also holds exclusive rights to the FA Cup and England's internationals and NHL across all these territories. AMI also handles Formula One, NBA and a number of other top properties in Eastern Europe.

Robert Pickles, owner of AMI, said he was very pleased to continue distributing Premier League within the Czech and Slovakian regions which they had handled in prior years.

Richard Scudamore, chief executive of the Premier League, said: “We are extremely pleased that AMI has chosen to invest in our broadcast rights in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia for seasons 2013/14 – 2015/16.

“We look forward to working with them and are confident they will distribute the best action from the Barclays Premier League in a comprehensive and innovative manner to our fans in both countries."
