Gary Gardner has yet to make his first-team debut for Aston Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner has joined Coventry City on loan until 3rd January.

The England under-21 international will be eligible for Coventry's Championship game at Brighton on Saturday.

Gardner is the fourth player to be loaned out by Villa this week, along with Shane Lowry (Millwall), Nathan Baker (Millwall) and Habib Beye (Doncaster).

The 19-year-old scored a hat-trick on Tuesday as Villa beat Ajax 3-0 at Villla Park to reach the quarter-finals of the NextGen U19 tournament.
