Adebayor double helps Spurs beat Villa

Tottenham striker Adebayor scores twice as they stroll to victory

Emmanuel Adebayor grabbed both of Tottenham's goals

Tottenham 2-0 Aston Villa

Emmanuel Adebayor scored both goals as Tottenham moved third in the table with a comfortable win over a below-par Aston Villa at White Hart Lane.

Adebayor opened the scoring early on when he acrobatically volleyed in from close range following an attempted shot from Gareth Bale.

Bale provided Adebayor with a tap-in shortly before the break and the striker could have sealed a hat-trick as Spurs continued to dominate in the second half to celebrate victory on manager Harry Redknapp's return.
