Sunderland beat Norwich, Villa fight back against QPR and Newcastle win at Blackburn

Sunderland 3-0 Norwich City

Sunderland continued their wonderful run under manager Martin O'Neill with a comfortable victory at home against Norwich in the Barclays Premier League.

The Black Cats scored two sensational goals in the first half, Fraizer Campbell getting the first by flicking the ball up and outrageously volleying in from 25 yards.

Stephane Sessegnon netted the second by heading in Campbell's cross after a sublime passing move, and after the break Phil Bardsley's cross deflected in off Daniel Ayala to wrap up the scoring.

Aston Villa 2-2 Queens Park Rangers

Aston Villa produced a thrilling fightback to come from 2-0 down and earn a point in their match against QPR.

The visitors quickly went into a 2-0 lead at a stunned Villa Park, Djibril Cisse superbly firing home on his debut and then Stephen Warnock heading into his own net.

But Villa pulled one back on the stroke of half-time when Darren Bent scored his 100th Barclays Premier League goal and they levelled matters when Charles N'Zogbia volleyed in his first for the club late on.

Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Arsenal

Bolton earned a valuable point in their battle for Barclays Premier League survival as they and Arsenal played out a goalless draw at the Reebok Stadium.

Both teams had several chances to win it, but Arsenal's best effort saw captain Robin van Persie's sublime chip from the edge of the box cannon back off the crossbar.

Bolton also went close to grabbing all three points late on, but Mark Davies was denied a penalty after he tumbled under a challenge from Gunners keeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Fulham 1-1 West Bromwich Albion

West Brom substitute Somen Tchoyi stepped off the bench to earn them a point in their Barclays Premier League match at Fulham.

The Cottagers took the lead in the second half when Bryan Ruiz played a cute pass into the penalty area for Clint Dempsey to fire into the net.

But the Baggies responded and claimed a leveller eight minutes from time when Tchoyi latched on to a James Morrison flick and lashed past David Stockdale.

Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Newcastle United

Blackburn remain in the relegation zone in the League as they slipped to defeat at home against Newcastle at Ewood Park.

The Magpies went in front when Ryan Taylor's shot deflected in off Scott Dann, and their goalkeeper Tim Krul saved a David Dunn penalty to preserve their lead.

Rovers threw everything at Newcastle in the second half but the visitors broke away in injury time and Gabriel Obertan slid in a second to wrap it up.
