West Brom recall loan trio

Gonzalo Jara, George Thorne and Marc-Antoine Fortune all back with Baggies

Gonzalo Jara in action for West Brom in the Barclays Premier League last season

West Bromwich Albion have recalled three players from loan spells with Championship clubs.

The Baggies are struggling with injuries ahead of the busy festive period in the Barclays Premier League, and have called back defender Gonzalo Jara, midfielder George Thorne and striker Marc-Antoine Fortune.

Chilean Jara, 26, had played four matches for Brighton, Thorne, 18, appeared four times for Portsmouth, while Frenchman Fortune, 30, had scored once in five matches for Doncaster.

They could all be involved on Wednesday when West Brom travel to the north-east for their Barclays Premier League fixture against Newcastle.

Midfielder James Morrison will almost certainly miss out as he suffered a hamstring strain in the 2-1 win at Blackburn on Saturday.
