Newcastle 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea moved above Newcastle in the Barclays Premier League after winning a sensational match at the Sports Direct Arena.

Chelsea missed a gilt-edged chance to take the lead when Frank Lampard saw his first-half penalty expertly saved by Tim Krul, but they did not have to wait too long before Juan Mata crossed for Didier Drogba to power a header past Krul.

Newcastle hit the woodwork three times before Salomon Kalou slotted home and Daniel Sturridge fired in late on to wrap up the points.
