Tottenham cruise to win over Blackburn

Goals from Rafael van der Vaart and Kyle Walker seal victory over Rovers

Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Blackburn Rovers

Tottenham moved back into fourth place in the table with a comfortable win over struggling Blackburn in the Barclays Premier League.

Rafael van der Vaart opened the scoring from close range midway through the first half after Gareth Bale's effort had been cleared off the line, while William Gallas headed against the bar in the opening period.

Kyle Walker, who had missed from close range in the first minute of the match, ensured Tottenham of the three points with a superbly struck free-kick that flew past Paul Robinson.

Blackburn struggled to carve out any goalscoring opportunities and they remain three points off safety with only two matches remaining.
