Title-chasing Man City send Wolves down

Roberto Mancini's side close gap on leaders Man Utd - and confirm Wolves' relegation

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for Manchester City in their match at Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 Manchester City

Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri scored as Manchester City boosted their Barclays Premier League title charge with a victory which condemned Wolverhampton Wanderers to relegation.

Aguero finished from a brilliant through-ball by Gael Clichy to give Roberto Mancini's men the lead in the first-half.

Wolves belied their bottom position with a battling, organised display, but when Nasri kept his composure to finish following Carlos Tevez's pass, their challenge was over.

City are now three points behind leaders Manchester United, and host their neighbours at the Etihad Stadium on Monday, April 30th in a match which is likely to decide who will be Barclays Premier League champions for 2011/12.
