Liverpool edge Everton in FA Cup semi

Liverpool come from behind to beat local rivals and earn win at Wembley

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll scores the winning goal for the Reds in the 87th minute

Andy Carroll scored in the dying minutes to earn Liverpool a 2-1 victory over neighbours Everton in their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Everton went in front when Liverpool's attempts to clear the ball rebounded straight to Nikica Jelavic in front of goal and he sidefooted past Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones.

But Luiz Suarez slotted home midway through the second half and then a glanced header from Carroll late on earned Liverpool a return trip to Wembley for the final next month.

Tottenham Hotspur play Chelsea in the other semi-final on Sunday.
