Bolton comeback stuns Villa

Visitors strike twice in two minutes as rapid comeback boosts survival hopes

Aston Villa's Emile Heskey battles for possession with Bolton's David Wheater at Villa Park

Aston Villa 1-2 Bolton Wanderers

A quickfire comeback from Bolton Wanderers saw them sink Aston Villa and boost their hopes of avoiding relegation - while leaving their hosts far from safe in the Barclays Premier League.

The home side had the better of an entertaining first half with Stephen Warnock seeing a shot hit the top of the bar and Charles N'Zogbia glancing the post with a free-kick.

But Warnock made the breakthrough after the interval from close range as he pounced to divert N'Zogbia's pinpoint cross into the net.

But Bolton scored twice immediately afterwards to turn the match on its head.

First Martin Petrov converted a penalty after Carlos Cuellar fouled Mark Davies, then David Ngog slotted home following superb work from Chris Eagles.

Bolton remain in the bottom three in the Barclays Premier League - but they are one point from safety with a match in hand on their nearest rivals.
